What you will learn and discover

Pottery skills & creative time

Over the week, you’ll spend more than 15 hours working alongside Laima, learning her approach to pottery in a very hands-on way. You’ll explore the basics, pinching, coiling, slab-building, and slowly create your own pieces, including a tea set from start to finish. There’s also time to play with decoration, colours, and textures, and make each piece feel truly yours. Whether you’re new to pottery or already have some experience, it’s really about enjoying the process and gaining confidence along the way. You’ll head home with your creations, including at least one bisque-fired piece.

A place shaped by ceramics

We’ll spend time in Giroussens, a small village known for its ceramic heritage. It’s a beautiful and inspiring place, with studios, galleries, and a real connection to the craft. It adds another layer to the week, seeing where pottery lives beyond the studio.

A taste of the South of France

Between classes, we take the time to enjoy where we are. A visit to Toulouse, a long lunch, a glass of wine, simple moments that make the experience feel balanced and easy. It’s not just about creating, but also about enjoying the rhythm of the South of France.

A space to slow down

The retreat takes place in a peaceful countryside estate, with a pool, spa, and quiet surroundings. It’s a place to step away from daily life, take things slowly, and reconnect, with yourself, your creativity, and the people around you. The group is small, so it always feels relaxed, personal, and easy.

Laima Laurina

Born in Latvia, Laima Laurina is a ceramic artist and sculptor whose creative journey is rooted in a deep connection to nature and a passion for working with her hands. Guided by intuition and a love for tactile expression, Laima found her true medium in clay.

She honed her craft through formal studies, earning a ceramics diploma from the Arts Academy of Latvia, and expanding her vision during a semester in Spain studying Product Design. Today, Laima’s work is a delicate balance of precision, playfulness, and organic beauty. Each piece is handcrafted using her own techniques, often featuring soft colour gradients and the textural elegance of porcelain.

Her art tells a quiet, powerful story, one of curiosity, patience, and an enduring respect for the natural world.
